At Recovery of Life we can help you manage and overcome many of life’s struggles. Some examples of issues we treat are:
Anxiety is an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts and physical changes like increased blood pressure.
People with anxiety disorders usually have recurring intrusive thoughts or concerns. They may avoid certain situations out of worry. They may also have physical symptoms such as sweating, trembling, dizziness or a rapid heartbeat.
Depression is more than just sadness. People with depression may experience a lack of interest and pleasure in daily activities, significant weight loss or gain, insomnia or excessive sleeping, lack of energy, inability to concentrate, feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt and recurrent thoughts of death or suicide.
Depression is the most common mental disorder. Fortunately, depression is treatable. A combination of therapy and antidepressant medication can help ensure recovery.
People experience grief in many different ways, and sometimes the feelings can seem unbearable. Grief is typically associated with a relationship loss, such as having to say goodbye to a loved one or going through the process of letting go of a relationship that has otherwise ended or changed. It can also be the result of a personal injury or change of status. Grief encompasses more than sadness because some type of loss has occurred. People grieve the end of journeys; the loss of dreams; unexpected changes in life; and a variety of other things. Counseling can help people navigate these paths and understand their feelings throughout the process.
Grief and loss are not cut-and-dried issues; they tend to move forward and change shape, but learning to live in new realities often takes time and means going back and forth between the past and the present in a meaningful way. Our counselors are here to help assist people with this.

Childhood behavioral issues are unique to individual families and often depend on the larger context of the community as well. Children speak through behaviors to tell adults about their world and to try and process their feelings about things. Child behavior is sometimes considered to be either “good and “appropriate” or “bad” and “inappropriate”, but there is actually a large continuum between the two. Very rarely can any person’s sum total of behaviors be squeezed into either category. Rather than thinking in terms of labels or categorizations, our counselors see children’s behaviors as clues as to what’s going on inside of them and/or what they have experienced. Behaviors are considered to be problematic when they impair a child’s functioning, when they cause the child (or the adult caretaker) distress, or when they put someone in danger. Common behavioral issues in children include the following: tantrums, excessive crying, school trouble, acting out in anger, hurting others without appropriate empathy, unexplained crying, night terrors, inability to control bladder, anxiety issues, worries and inattention. These and many other things can cause difficulty between parents, hurt between siblings, and general disruption in the family. You can depend on our counselors to consider the latest treatments for your child and for supporting you as a parent.

Anorexia nervosa: Individuals believe they’re fat even when they’re dangerously thin and restrict their eating to the point of starvation.
Bulimia nervosa: Individuals eat excessive amounts of food, then purge by making themselves vomit or using laxatives.
Binge eating: Individuals have out-of-control eating patterns, but don’t purge.
